Masque of Dayton changes the face of Ohio nightlife.

My agency, In Your Face Agency, supervises media, promotion, marketing, and advertising for the Midwest's most impressive and important new gay dance and show club in the Nation. I knew going into the Masque project in the summer of 2004 that this $2.3 million dollar club was something special. I had no idea it

would culminate into the phenomenon it has become. Masque is truly unique and everyone is invited to discover this for him or herself.

Owner Luke Liakos envisioned his gay club over a decade ago. "I didn't want Masque to happen until I knew I would be absolutely ready," he explains. Luke was clearly ready on Christmas night 2004 when the doors finally opened.

"Now that we're polished, we're going to make the entire month of March our Grand-Opening month!" Despite the extra festivities and events planned in March, Masque operates on a daily basis with a Grand Opening attitude.

Once you step inside Masque the feeling is more like a club you'd more likely find in London, Tokyo, or New York. The décor and styling is modern European.

The sound system in the DJ booth is more powerful than most club dance floors. The new dance floor system by Funktion-One of Europe is the most powerful in the nation. And, there are more intelligent lighting fixtures on the ceilings of both dance floors in Masque than all other Dayton clubs combined. But despite the size of the club, Masque's staff is the friendliest, most courteous, and rapid you'll find anywhere.

Luke explained the focus on other Ohio markets, "the Cleveland and especially Columbus gay communities are very discriminating when it comes to night life." Once they make the small effort to drive to Dayton they'll quickly label the trip worthwhile". He went on to say, "Thanks to our brand new high-volume HVAC system, smokers and non-smokers alike can mingle together in comfort." Dayton still allows smoking in clubs!

To make the trip more enticing and convenient Masque has arranged with the Doubletree Hotel Dayton Downtown to offer a wonderful discount rate for anyone who simply mentions Masque when placing an advance reservation.

From the dance diva Kristine W to Circuit DJ Eddie X to porn stars such as Johnny Hazzard and Eddie Stone, to the antics of the dueling-piano styled "Pianos Gone Wild" shows every Sunday and Monday night, to the choreographed Saturday night drag shows, Masque's wide variety of events scheduled in March will appeal to nearly any palette.
